The variety belongs to a group of hybrids developed by Professor Luigi Manzoni in the first half of the 20th century at the oenological school in the city of Conegliano. Genetic analysis confirmed that the parent forms are Glera and Cabernet Franc.
This variety is red-skinned and is used primarily in blends for the production of wines with protected geographical indication. Due to its limited distribution, detailed agrotechnical characteristics of the variety are poorly studied.
