Variety description

The variety is characterized by an upright habit and good vigor. Leaves are rounded with 5, 7 or 9 lobes, deep green in color with bronze spots. Clusters are pyramidal in shape and large in size; berries are small, round, with thick skin.

The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, grey mold, as well as to drought, winter cold and late frosts. The yield of the variety is characterized as moderate.

Wines from MARSELAN are distinguished by an intense color due to a high content of anthocyanins and the presence of soft tannins. The flavor and aroma profile includes notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, raspberry and spices. The wines have good aging potential.
