Variety description

10 August 2026

The name «Morisca» appears in ampelographic sources as a synonym for the Cayetana Blanca variety. In viticulture, this is a late-ripening wine grape variety with high yield. Clusters are medium, conical, and dense. Berries are medium-sized, rounded, greenish-yellow in color, and possess juicy pulp with a neutral taste.

The variety is sensitive to powdery mildew, gray mold, and mite infestation. The grapes are usually used for the production of neutral-profile wines, often in blends. The origin of the variety is ancient and autochthonous to Spain, having formed as a result of folk selection.
