The variety is a wine grape variety intended for winemaking. Wines made from it are characterized by good color, a low level of tannins, and are suitable for quick consumption. The variety can also be used in blends to provide structure and color.

The tip of the young shoot has a weak density of pubescence, and young leaves are green in color. In France, a clone of the variety under the number 537 is certified.
