An early-ripening variety possessing vines with above-average vigor. It is distinguished by a high yield of 85 to 110 c/ha and is capable of growing in poor sandy soils. Genetically, the variety is a product of the natural crossing of Blauer Zimmettraube and Grüner Silvaner.

The berries have a dark blue color, medium size, thin skin, and juicy pulp. Sugar content indicators are 16–19%, and acidity is in the range of 6–8 g/l. Resistance to diseases (downy mildew, powdery mildew) is weak, the variety is susceptible to gray mold, but relatively resistant to spring frosts.

This grape belongs to wine varieties and is intended primarily for the production of red table wines. In some catalogs, the name may be used as a synonym for other varieties, such as Blaufränkisch, which is due to historical confusion in identification.
