The variety possesses high vigor and above-average yield. The leaves are medium-sized, five-lobed. The cluster is cylindrical-conical, often with a wing, and is characterized by a dense or very dense structure. The berries are black, large, round, covered with a thick waxy bloom, and have thick skin.
The variety is not resistant to fungal diseases and shows susceptibility to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold. Although the main purpose of cultivation is winemaking, due to the harmonious taste and juiciness of the berries, the variety can be used as a table grape.
Wines made from Quagliano grapes are distinguished by a light ruby or cherry color, as well as aromas of violet, strawberry, and grape. The flavor profile of the beverages often includes sweetish undertones.
