The variety is an "ancestral" grape found in the Querol municipality area after being considered lost due to the phylloxera epidemic. The plant is characterized by an upright bush growth habit.

A key morphological feature is the presence of exclusively female flowers. Due to pollination characteristics, clusters are heterogeneous and contain both normal-sized berries and very small fruits. The variety belongs to late ripening groups, with harvest typically occurring at the end of September.

The grapes are used in winemaking, particularly for creating blends to which it imparts freshness and structure. The wines are characterized by high aromatic intensity with notes of lavender, rosemary, cilantro, wild berries and pomegranate, as well as pronounced concentration, acidity and tannins.
