The RG10 rootstock is used to adapt viticulture to climate change, demonstrating the ability to influence plant water status, photosynthesis processes, and water use efficiency. Research shows that this rootstock has a low level of infection by grapevine trunk disease pathogens, such as Phaeoacremonium minimum and Phaeomoniella chlamydospora.

One of the key features of the rootstock is its ability to delay the phenolic ripening of grapes, which makes it a promising material for growing the crop in extremely hot climate conditions.
