The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties Olivette Blanche and Alphonse Lavallée. The vines have medium vigor, require trellising, and are characterized by good productivity. The variety buds late and matures at a late time, approximately one week before the Gros Vert variety.
The clusters are of medium to large size, conical in shape, and of moderate density. The berries are large, ellipsoidal in shape, and bluish-black in color with a waxy bloom. The skin is thick but tender; the flesh is firm with a simple flavor, which becomes sweeter during prolonged storage on the vine.
The variety is resistant to mechanical damage and is not very susceptible to gray mold and berry shatter. At the same time, it is sensitive to drought, downy mildew, and powdery mildew.
