The variety is a product of folk selection. The vines are vigorous. The growing season from bud break to full maturity lasts about 145 days with an active temperature sum of 3010°С. Frost resistance is average or below average; the endurance limit is about -20°С.

The leaves are medium-sized, rounded, five-lobed, dark green, with pubescence on the underside. The clusters are medium-sized, conical, often winged or branched, and loose. The berries are medium-sized, rounded or flattened, dark blue in color with a waxy bloom and juicy pulp.

The variety is relatively resistant to downy mildew and tolerant to Phylloxera. Yield is stable and amounts to 80–100 c/ha. The wines have a fruity aroma, increased acidity, and moderate body.
