The variety is autochthonous to Dalmatia and is grown primarily in the western part of Croatia. It is a wine grape variety used to produce dry white wines with low to medium alcohol content, a pale yellow color, and notes of peach, citrus, and mineral undertones. It is also used in blends with other varieties and in the creation of dessert wines.
It belongs to the mid to mid-late maturity group and is characterized by medium to high yield. The plant is susceptible to downy mildew and Botrytis cinerea, which requires careful maintenance. It is genetically unrelated to the Italian variety Trebbiano, despite the similarity in names.
The variety has many synonyms, including Kuč, Dobrogoština, Grban, Rukavina, and Šampanjol. In the international VIVC catalogue, the main name of the variety is Mostosa.
