The variety is of Italian origin and was historically cultivated in the Lake Garda area; today it is found in Lombardy and Trentino. It belongs to late-ripening varieties, with berry ripening occurring in the first ten days of October. The vine growth vigor is medium or high; the fertility of fruit-bearing shoots is low.
The cluster of the variety has a cylindrical-conical shape, is dense, and of medium size. The berries are large, round-shaped. The yield is about 1.5 kg per vine. The variety shows resistance to downy mildew and moderate resistance to gray mold.
Wine material from this variety is distinguished by high acidity and aromaticity with floral and earthy notes. It is used both for monovarietal white wines and as part of blends for the production of sparkling wines.
