The variety is mid-late, with a growing season of 150–170 days. The vines have low to medium vigor. Leaves are medium-sized, rounded, 3- or 5-lobed, slightly dissected and wavy. Bunches are small or medium (90–120 g), broadly conical, often winged, ranging from medium-dense to loose.
Berries are medium-sized, oval, greenish-yellow with a golden hue, covered with a light bloom, and have juicy and sweet flesh. Yield is low, at 30–40 c/ha. The variety is slightly susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold, but highly susceptible to powdery mildew, sensitive to frosts and excessive moisture, while possessing drought tolerance.
This wine grape variety is intended for the production of dry table and fortified wines, including Madeira. The wines are characterized by high acidity and aromas of tropical fruits, citrus, and pear.
