The Verdoncho variety is autochthonous to the Castilla-La Mancha region in Spain. Genetically, it is related to the Pardina variety, also known by the name Jaén Blanco. The variety is considered ancient and is currently being studied as part of projects to restore the genetic heritage of the region's vineyards.

The plant belongs to wine grape varieties intended for wine production. Wines from this variety are characterized by pronounced acidity and herbaceous notes. Detailed agrotechnical data, including a description of the plant morphology and disease resistance, are absent in publications.
