The variety belongs to the genetically related Pinot group and is a point mutation of Pinot Noir or Pinot Gris. The vine has high or medium vigor; the flower is perfect. Leaves are medium or large, three-lobed. The cluster is medium or large, weighing 100–110 g, with a dense structure and a conical or cylindrical shape.
Berries are round, medium-sized, weighing 1.4–2.1 g, have a greenish-white color with a golden tint and thin skin. The variety is thermophilic, growing best on sunny slopes with deep calcareous soils. Yield is high, depending on growing conditions. Frost resistance is -19...-22°C; disease resistance is low.
The variety is used exclusively in winemaking for the production of white wines possessing mild acidity and fruit aromas. Due to its restrained aromatic profile, it is used in blends. The character of the wine depends on aging and can vary from light and refreshing to full-bodied with nutty and bready tones.
