The variety is ancient, presumably dating back about 2000 years. The leaf is three-lobed, without pubescence on the underside, with an open, lyre-shaped petiolar sinus. The flower is hermaphroditic. The bunch is medium, conical, varying from loose to compact. The berry is medium, yellow, egg-shaped or elliptical in form.

The variety belongs to the early maturity group and is characterized by medium to high yields. It possesses weak resistance to powdery mildew and phomopsis cane and leaf spot due to its thin skin, while resistance to grey mold is assessed as relatively good.

The grapes are used to create wines with a high sugar and alcohol content and reduced acidity. The aroma of the wines features notes of apricot, peach, honey, and spices. Traditionally, the variety is used both in monovarietal dry wines and in the production of 'Prošek' dessert wine or in blends.
