Chardonnay is a natural hybrid of the Pinot and Gouais blanc varieties, whose place of origin is considered to be Burgundy. It is a wine grape variety used for the production of a wide range of wines, from still dry to sparkling.

The plant has high vigor and good adaptability to various soil types and climatic conditions. It is a mid-season variety with medium disease resistance, sensitive to powdery mildew, gray mold, and spring frosts.
