Variety description

The variety is a product of the natural cross-pollination of the Gouais blanc variety with an unknown variety. The plant is characterized by medium-sized vines, rounded 3- or 5-lobed leaves, and small to medium cylindrical bunches weighing 80–100 g. The berries have a greenish-white color with a yellowish tint and small dark spots.

Riesling tolerates frost well and is characterized by late bud break, which allows it to avoid spring frosts. The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew, gray mold, and bacterial cancer. It is intended exclusively for winemaking and is valued for the high aging potential of its wines.
