Vitis vinifera L.
Grape productivity is defined as the ability of a vine to form an economically valuable yield, assessed through a system of agrobiological indicators, such as fruitfulness and fertility coefficients, as well as shoot structure.

To assess grape productivity, structural yield elements are used: the number of shoots per vine, the percentage of fruitful shoots, the coefficient of fruitfulness (the ratio of the number of clusters to the total number of developed shoots), and the fertility coefficient (the number of clusters per fruitful shoot), as well as the average cluster weight. These indicators allow agronomists to optimize the bud and shoot load during pruning, preventing vine overloading or underloading.
The values of productivity elements depend on the variety group: the number of fruitful shoots varies from 15–40% in eastern varieties to 40–90% in Black Sea basin varieties. The cluster weight ranges from 50–350 g for wine varieties to 350–1000 g for table varieties. There is a critical productivity level — the maximum possible load for the shoot morphostructure, which is 300 g for wine varieties and 375 g for table varieties.
Productivity is a decisive factor in choosing a vine training system and trellis system, as a mismatch between the variety's biology and the cultivation method leads to reduced yields. Furthermore, the seed productivity indicator in certain grape varieties correlates with their tolerance to grape phylloxera, and the UHP (unit economic productivity of a shoot) indicators reflect the efficiency of the leaf apparatus.
