The Brewers Gold variety belongs to the bitter-aromatic hop type. The alpha-acid content in its composition varies in the range from 5.5% to 10%.

This variety is historically important genetic material that served as the basis for breeding many modern hop varieties worldwide, including the Polish variety Marynka.
