The variety is a second-generation hybrid of the English variety Fuggle and Northern Brewer. The plant is characterized by a moderate growth rate, a yield of about 1190 kg/ha, and moderate resistance to downy mildew, with resistance to verticillium wilt and powdery mildew.
The chemical composition of the cones includes 11% alpha-acids, 4.9% beta-acids, 24% co-humulone, and 2.15 ml/100 g of total oil content. The variety is suitable for use in various beer styles, including English ale, lager, and pilsner, due to its floral and pine aroma.
