The plant belongs to trellis or dwarf varieties, which simplifies the harvesting process. Boadicea is considered the world's first aphid-resistant hop variety; it also possesses high resistance to wilt and downy mildew. The yield is 1350–1650 kg/ha.

The hop is for dual-purpose use, suitable for both bitterness and aroma. The aromatic profile includes notes of garden flowers, herbs, ripe fruits, citrus, as well as woody and spicy undertones. The alpha-acid content is 6.0–10.0%, beta-acid content is 3.0–4.5%, and total oil content is 1.3–2.2 ml/100 g.
