The variety is widespread in Spanish regions, particularly in the province of Córdoba, and is mentioned as part of the PDO Lucena Protected Designation of Origin. In olive oil production, the variety is most often used in combination with the region's main variety, Hojiblanca.
The fruits of this variety contribute to improving the organoleptic characteristics of the final product and increasing its shelf life. In olive tree classifications, there is sometimes confusion where this name may be mistakenly associated with other varieties, for example, the Sevillano variety.
