The Capolga variety, also known as Capolga Umbra or Capolga di Romagna, is a local variety of folk selection used primarily for oil production. In scientific literature, it is mentioned in the context of research on the genetic diversity of olive germplasm in Italy.
The plant possesses intermediate resistance to low temperatures. Upon exposure to severe frosts, damage such as leaf drop or tree bark cracking is possible.
