The variety belongs to the group of domesticated introduced varieties. Prior to the severe frosts of 1956, it was the most popular in Slovenian Istria, after which a significant portion of the trees were top-worked with the Istrska belica variety.
The fruits ripen at the end of October, and harvesting typically begins in early November. The oil content of the fruits is characterized as relatively low, and the oil has a medium tocopherol content and a low biophenol content.
