The variety «Carbuncion», also known as «Carbuncion di Carpineta», is native to the Forlì-Cesena province. Genetic research has confirmed that this genotype is not related to the «Carboncella» variety. The original mother tree, found in 1998, has not survived, so the variety is maintained through propagation by cuttings in research centers such as IBIMET-CNR.
The variety is classified as highly susceptible to Verticillium wilt caused by the pathogen Verticillium dahliae, showing greater sensitivity than the «Picual» variety. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant and oil content indicators are absent in open sources.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
