The variety is a local cultivar long considered forgotten. Morphological studies have revealed the presence of pronounced xeromorphic traits, including significant thickness of the cuticle and leaf blade, high trichome density on the leaf surface, and reduced intercellular spaces. The leaf shape is characterized by a narrow base.
The plant is adapted to the environmental conditions of northwestern Spain. Research is underway on the possibility of propagating the variety via cuttings and micropropagation methods. The variety is considered part of the region's cultural heritage, suitable for producing high-quality olive oil.
