The variety GREMIGNO DI MONTECATINI is an autochthonous Tuscan cultivar intended for olive oil production. Genetic studies have confirmed the identity of its profile with the well-known variety Leccino. The variety is not self-fertile, therefore other pollinator varieties are necessary for crop formation.
The plant is sensitive to low temperatures. It is susceptible to infestation by pests and diseases such as olive fruit fly, olive moth, Coccidae, Cycloconium, and sooty mold.
