The Tonda Iblea variety originates from the southeastern part of Sicily and is distinguished by high adaptability to calcareous soils and high-altitude conditions up to 800 meters. It is a dual-purpose tree, the fruits of which are suitable for both canning and oil production with aromas of green tomato, grass, and artichoke. The plant is characterized by high resistance to cold and pests, including the olive fruit fly.

The Tonda di Cagliari variety is autochthonous to Sardinia. The tree has medium vigor and semi-erect branches. The fruits are large, weighing about 5 grams, and turn black when ripening in November. The oil of this variety has a balanced taste with notes of fresh fruits and vegetables.
