The variety is an autochthonous cultivar, also known by the names Oliva Rotonda, Oliva Tonda, Olivella di Carife, Olivello Tondo, Tallara, Ritonnella and Sorbara. The tree has high vigor, forming an upright, spreading and dense crown.
The fruits have an average flesh-to-pit ratio, and the oil content is about 19% of fresh weight. The resulting oil is characterized by light intensity of fruity taste, bitterness and pungency, with notes of almond and tomato. The variety is susceptible to diseases such as peacock spot, verticillium wilt and olive knot.
