The name Oliva Nera di Colletorto represents an indigenous variety of the Italian region of Molise. It is the primary variety for the local olive oil industry, accounting for up to 80% of the volume of processed fruit, and is used mainly for the production of Extra Virgin oil.
This variety is distinguished by high resistance to parasites, which allows for minimizing the use of pesticides. The oil obtained from it has increased resistance to oxidation and a long shelf life for its organoleptic characteristics.
In other cases, the name Oliva Nera is used as a collective designation for ripe olive fruit or acts as a synonym for well-known varieties, such as Moraiolo. A unified morphological description for this name as a standardized variety does not exist.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
