Petit Ribier is an autochthonous variety, traditional to the Var department and the eastern part of the Alpes-Maritimes. In the commune of Callas, the variety is also known by the local name Plant of Callas.
The oil of this variety possesses a smooth, harmonious taste and is often used in regional blends together with the Aglandau, Cayon, and Bouteillan varieties. The plant is characterized by resistance to aging.
