Piccolina is a minor Italian olive variety and is classified as a rare local genotype (accession). The origin of the variety is presumably folk, with no clear breeding records available.
The fruits are used for the production of olive oil, the composition of which is distinguished by an increased content of palmitic and linoleic acids with a low level of oleic acid. Official data on the agrotechnical characteristics of the tree have not been recorded; the variety is being studied primarily in the context of preserving genetic diversity.
The name Piccolina is often used as a descriptive term to denote olive trees with small fruits, without being the name of an officially registered industrial variety.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
