ActivePrunus cerasus L. · Sour cherry
Ujfehertoi Gyumolcstermesztesi Kutato, H
10 August 2026
The tree forms a neat, rounded crown with thin, drooping branches, reaching a height of 4–6 meters. The fruits are medium to large in size, acquiring an intense juice coloration and a dark, nearly black color upon ripening. The flesh is juicy and sour in taste.
The variety is late-ripening, with fruit maturity occurring in late July or the first half of August. The plant is self-fertile. Susceptibility to fungal diseases, in particular to Coccomyces hiemalis, has been noted.
The variety is intended for processing and is in demand for the production of juices, preserves, jams, and wines due to the high intensity of the juice color.
