Ujfehertoi furtos
ActivePrunus cerasus L. · Sour cherry
Ujfehertoi Gyumolcstermesztesi Kutato, H
10 August 2026
This clone belongs to the 'brown cherry' group. Studies have shown that it is morphologically almost indistinguishable from other local varieties such as Stevnsbær, Langeskov, Løvskal, and Thorsager; therefore, to streamline nomenclature, the group has been unified under the common name Stevnsbær.
The fruits of this cherry type are small and very sour, with intense flesh and juice pigmentation. They detach easily from the stem, which allows for mechanical harvesting. The primary use for the fruit is industrial and home processing for the production of juices, wines, liqueurs, and jams.
The trees are considered hardy, adapted to different soil types, and exhibit high resistance to Monilinia. When grown on Prunus avium rootstock, the trees reach a height of 5 meters, and mature specimens tend to develop drooping shoots.
