The MARTIN SEC tree has medium vigor and is characterized by hardiness. Harvesting is carried out in the second half of October. The variety is partially self-fertile; to increase yields, the presence of pollinator varieties such as Conference, Williams, or Bosc is recommended.

The fruits have a mass of 80–180 g, a round-pyriform shape, and rough, thin skin with a characteristic russeted hue and a possible red blush. The flesh is firm, slightly granular, moderately juicy, with a sweet aroma. The variety shows adaptability but requires preventative measures against scab and fire blight.

The fruits have good keeping quality and are traditionally used in cooking: they are stewed in wine, baked, dried, or used for making jams and compotes. Genetically, the variety is close to the Madernassa pear.
