The variety is a hybrid of Vitis berlandieri (clone Las Sorres) and Vitis riparia (clone Gloire de Montpellier). It is a rootstock material that is not used for producing berries or wine, but serves as a base for grafting Vitis vinifera varieties.
The vines have high vigor. Due to genetic characteristics inherited from Vitis berlandieri, the variety is promising for use on calcareous soils. Research is also being conducted on its adaptability to drought and resistance to soil stresses, phylloxera, and chlorosis.
