The variety is a rootstock, not intended for berry production. The variety was bred by crossing Vitis berlandieri and Vitis rupestris. The primary purpose of the rootstock is to ensure the adaptation of the scion to complex soil and climatic conditions.
The plant is vigorous with a growing season of about 177 days. The rootstock has high resistance to fungal diseases such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, and anthracnose, as well as drought. It tolerates soils with an active lime content of up to 20% well, but is sensitive to waterlogging.
