Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Vitis berlandieri × Vitis rupestris. It is a very vigorous rootstock with a powerful, deep-penetrating root system. The plant has a male flower type and does not produce fruit.

The rootstock is characterized by high resistance to root phylloxera, drought, and calcareous soils, tolerating up to 50% total carbonate content and up to 20% active lime. Due to its excessive vegetative vigor, it is not recommended for use on fertile and moist soils, as this may negatively affect cane maturation and scion quality.

The vegetative period of the variety is long, which may lead to delayed harvest maturity. When using this rootstock, there are risks of uneven graft union and the formation of galls at the union site with some vigorous scions.
