Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Vitis berlandieri and Vitis rupestris. Bushes are vigorous; shoots reach 3.5–4 m in length. The flower is of the male type; the variety is not intended for berry production and is neither a table nor a wine grape.

The rootstock is distinguished by high growth energy, a powerful root system, and drought tolerance. It adapts well to clay, saline, and calcareous soils (up to 30% total carbonate) and tolerates temporary spring waterlogging. It has a long growing season.

Wood yield is estimated as low to medium; shoots are prone to intensive lateral growth. Grafted varieties may show a tendency toward delayed ripening, and on excessively fertile soils, excessive vegetative growth to the detriment of fruiting is possible.
