The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing Berlandieri Resseguier 2 and Ecole Montpellier 34. It is intended primarily for use as a rootstock.

The plant has a functionally male flower type. The variety is known for its ability to adapt to adverse soil conditions and demonstrates high efficiency when grown on saline soils.
