Bela glera is an ancient white grape variety intended for winemaking. It is not a variant of the Italian Glera variety (Prosecco tondo), despite the similarity in names, which arose due to the historical use of the term "Glera" as a general designation for a group of white varieties.
Currently, the variety is considered an object for the conservation of biological diversity in Slovenia. Within the framework of clonal selection programs, its biotypes are being studied to search for specimens with increased resistance to diseases and unfavorable environmental factors. Standardized agronomic descriptions of the variety are absent in open sources.
