The variety has French roots and originates from Burgundy. It belongs to the early or mid-early ripening category depending on the cultivation region. It is used exclusively in winemaking, including for the creation of blends.
Like other members of the Pinot family, the variety shows sensitivity to powdery mildew and downy mildew, requiring standard protective measures. Wines from this variety have a light straw-yellow color, moderate to medium acidity, and characteristic aromas of white flowers, apple, pear, and grapefruit.
