Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is indigenous to the Provence region and originated from a natural crossing of the varieties Pougayen and Best's R2 V73. The vine has moderate vigor and semi-erect shoots. The clusters are small and often have a forked shape with winged branches.

The berries are very large, broadly elliptical in shape, covered with a pronounced waxy bloom, and prone to shattering upon full ripening. The variety has high susceptibility to powdery mildew and grey mold. The resulting wines are characterized by moderate acidity, low alcohol content, and light color.

The variety is used rarely, mainly as a minor component in blends of Palette AOC wines. Currently, its planting areas are extremely small.
