This is a wine grape variety historically widespread in the vicinity of Buda and the wine-growing regions of Balaton. The vines have medium vigor. The variety is used as a component for creating hybrids, such as Rózsakő and Vulcanus, and also serves as a pollinator for the Kéknyelű variety.

The clusters are medium-sized, conical, and dense. The berries are medium-sized, round, and white in color. The variety matures in the mid-late period. It is characterized by high yield, but exhibits susceptibility to fungal diseases, in particular to grey mold (Botrytis cinerea), and is also sensitive to frost.

Wines from this variety are noted for high acidity, as a result of which it is more often used in blends or for creating spritzer-type wines.
