Fonte Cal is an indigenous variety from the northeastern part of the Beira region in Portugal. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and forms dense foliage. The variety possesses high adaptability to various weather conditions, demonstrating resistance to high temperatures and moisture deficit.
Bunches are medium-sized and consist of tightly packed yellow-green berries. The variety is used primarily in blends to create wines possessing structure, aging potential, and pronounced floral, honey, and fruit aromas.
