The Giouroukiko variety is a clone or synonym of the Fokiano variety and originates from Ancient Greece. It is cultivated mainly on the Aegean islands, as well as in the Macedonia and Thrace regions. The designation Rs in the name indicates the pink or red color of the berry skin.

The plant possesses good resistance to diseases, drought, and heat. The variety belongs to the early to medium maturity group. The grapes have medium-sized berries with thick skins. Wines produced from this variety are characterized by low acidity, low color intensity, and aromas of plum and fig.
