The variety is native to Mallorca and was widespread before the phylloxera outbreak, after which it was long considered endangered. The grapes are used exclusively for the production of varietal white wines or in blends with other local varieties.

The plant is characterized by generous productivity, forming large bunches and berries, while being sensitive to rainfall levels. To improve fruit quality, winemakers use agrotechnical practices such as shoot thinning.

Wines from this variety have a golden color, good structure, and a silky texture. The aroma and taste are dominated by notes of white stone fruits, apple, pineapple, citrus, fennel, and spicy undertones, accompanied by pronounced freshness and acidity.
