Glera Lunga B. is an independent grape variety originating from a cross between the Vulpea variety and an unknown parent. The plant has high vigor and medium-sized, moderately dense, truncate-pyramidal bunches. The berries have an elliptical shape and rather thick skin, turning golden-yellow upon ripening.
The variety belongs to the late-ripening group and is characterized by low yield. It is sensitive to drought, prone to flower drop, and susceptible to fungal diseases. It is used in winemaking as an additional component, usually comprising up to 15% in the composition of Prosecco DOC and DOCG wines, enriching their structure and aromatic profile.
