The variety is characterized by vigorous vine growth and a late ripening period, with harvest occurring in late October — November. The leaf is medium-sized, three- or five-lobed, with dense pubescence on the underside. The bunch is medium-sized, cylindrical or conical in shape. The berries are small or medium, round, and dark blue in color.
The plant has good resistance to drought and powdery mildew, although it may be susceptible to grey mold. The yield of the variety is considered low and depends heavily on growing conditions. Glianico wines in their youth are characterized by notes of dark berries, leather, and spices, and upon aging acquire earthy and tobacco undertones.
